How Many Table Numbers Should You Order?

Believe it or not, it’s easy to forget the most simple items – such as the table number. Yet, this very item plays an integral part of the success of your dinner reception, if you want your guests to have a seat. Depending on the way your venue is setup, you’ll want each table to have a corresponding table number letting the guest know where to sit.

Each table at your reception should receive a unique Table Number. The number of Table Numbers you order will depend on two variables: the size of your guest list and the seating capacity of each table.

This can be a bit tricky if you plan to have a unique setup, such as a few square tables, a few rectangular tables and so on. Understanding the layout of your event space will be key to determining the number of printed table number cards you will need.

Table Numbers come in multiples of either 8 or 10 (varies by type). When ordering, round up to the nearest multiple. For example, if you need 13 Table Numbers (like in the example above), then round up to the nearest multiple of 8 or 10, which is 16 or 20.

Once you have determined the number of table numbers you need, it only gets creative from this point! You can incorporate moments from your life on your table numbers. You can create a nice sentiment about a location, city, or cool spot. Maybe include your favorite restaurants or coffee shops while you lived there. The important thing is that the guests were able to easily and quickly find their table AND they were able to learn more about you as a couple.

There’s no shortage of ways to express your personal style with a decorative tabletop number. At RBW, we make sure we touch on this very item to include your personality!
